No. 10 Longhorns vs. No. 11 Baylor: Live In-Game Updates

The No. 10 Texas Longhorns will host the No. 11 Baylor Bears Monday at the Moody Center.

The No. 10 Texas Longhorns will host the No. 11 Baylor Bears Monday in Austin at the Moody Center for the first matchup of the season between the two Big 12 rivals.

The Bears head into Austin having won six straight games. It's a streak that's been highlighted by a 67-64 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday and 75-69 win over the then-No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks on Jan. 9.

Texas is now 2-2 in its last four games, but remains in the top 10 since both of those losses came against the then-No. 12 Iowa State Cyclones on Jan. 17 and the current No. 2-ranked Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday.

The Bears won both meetings against Texas last season, but look like a much different team this time around. Still, coach Scott Drew has his team hitting its stride at an ideal time in mid-season, as Baylor will be looking for its seventh straight head-to-head win in the matchup since 2019.

Live in-game updates will appear below at tip-off.

Jalen Bridges nailed an early triple for the Bears before LJ Cryer added one from deep as well. But Timmy Allen had four early points of his own while connecting with Dillon Mitchell for a slam.

Still, despite some mistakes, the Bears led 8-7 at the 16-minute mark.

Under-12

Marcus Carr got his first triple of the game coming out of the timeout as Texas took its first lead at 10-8. Cryer answered with a 3, but then the Longhorns started to seize some early momentum. Tyrese Hunter gave the Horns a 18-12 lead before the 12-minute mark after picking Keyonte George's pocket and flying away for a fast-break layup.

Under-8

Arterio Morris then had four straight points of his own before Hunter nailed a much-needed triple to give Texas a 26-19 lead. The Longhorns held the Bears without a point for the next two minutes.

Under-4

Allen continued his hot start to keep the Longhorns ahead, but the Bears chipped into the deficit. Dale Bonner got a transition dunk after a steal before George started to catch fire. He hit a two-point jumper before stepping back against Brock Cunningham for a big-time 3.

This dwindled Texas' lead to just two headed into halftime.

HALFTIME: Texas 38, Baylor 36

Under-16

Mitchell had a ferocious put-back slam that ignited the Moody Center before Hunter hit his second triple of the game to give Texas a 43-38 lead. Mitchell followed this up with a block in the paint against Flo Thamba.

Allen then hit another jumper to cap an 8-0 Texas run.

Under-12

George ended a near three-minute scoring drought from both teams after hitting a triple at the top of the arc to cut Texas' lead to 46-42.
