Texas AD Chris Del Conte Reveals Fate of Longhorn Network After SEC Move

A lot of changes are coming along with the Longhorns move to the SEC in 2024.

The Texas Longhorns are officially moving from the Big 12 to the SEC on July 1, 2024.

And with that, dozens of questions have begun to surface.

One of the most prevalent concerns as a result of that move has been - what will happen with Longhorn Network?

And During a virtual town hall meeting on Monday night, Texas Athletic Director Chris Del Conte finally answered that question, revealing that the network would be folded into the already existing SEC Network

"The Longhorn Network will be folded into the SEC Network," Del Conte said. "We have a year or two left with the Longhorn Network. Then, all that inventory stays with us."

This comes as sad news for Longhorns fans, some of whom tune in to the one-of-a-kind network on a daily basis.

Longhorn Network launched on August 26, 2011 as a joint venture between ESPN, the University of Texas and Learfield with the Network being operated by ESPN.

Now, for all intents and purposes, it appears that the one-of-a-kind network will be coming to an end sooner, rather than later.
