UCLA Women's Basketball: Charisma Osborne Invited To Attend Next Week's Draft

Former UCLA women's basketball standout Charisma Osborne has been named one of fifteen players invited to the 2024 WNBA Draft. The WNBA Draft will take place on April 15 in Brooklyn, New York. The Indiana Fever hold the first overall pick in the draft.

Osborne was invited to attend the draft along with fellow women's college basketball stars, including Stanford's Cameron Brink, South Carolina's Kamilla Cardoso, Iowa's Caitlin Clark, UConn's Aaliyah Edwards, Ole Miss' Marquesha Davis, Syracuse's Dyaisha Fair, Tennessee's Rickea Jackson, UConn's Nika Mühl, Virginia Tech's Elizabeth Kitley, Utah's Alissa Pili, LSU's Angel Reese, Ohio States' Jacy Sheldon and Celeste Taylor, and Nyadiew Puoch from Australia, via ESPN's Alexa Philippou.

The invite to the draft indicates Osborne is expected to be drafted, and one of the better prospects in this class. There are three rounds in the WNBA Draft, with 12 teams picking each round.

Osborne, who announced she was declaring for the draft on April 2, heads to the WNBA after spending five years at UCLA. During her final season at UCLA, Osborne averaged 13.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game while shooting an average of 41% from the field. Overall in her career, the 5-foot-9 guard averaged 14.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

Osborne was renowned for her defense at UCLA, where she was named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team twice. She also made the All-Pac-12 team in four out of her five seasons with the Bruins. Osborne is projected to likely be a late first-round pick or an early second-round pick.
