UCLA Football: Bruins Get Brutally Honest About Hopes For Stanford Road Game

Bruins searching for first Pac-12 road win

It has been a rough road for the UCLA Bruins to start their 2023 Pac-12 schedule.

Through the first three weeks of Pac-12 play, UCLA is 1-2 and have yet to win a game on the road.

The Bruins are coming off of a 36-24 loss in Corvallis last weekend and are right back on the road this week as they head to Stanford.

UCLA is coming off of a stretch where they played three ranked opponents to start the season. They were able to beat Washington State at home but dropped their game against Utah in Salt Lake 14-7.

The team realizes that they have yet to beat a Pac-12 team on the road this season and want to change that.

“We want to get it bad,” defensive lineman Gary Smith III said. “We want to win every game, so hopefully we can get one on the road this week. And we’re excited for the challenge.” (Via Los Angeles Daily News)

While Stanford is towards the bottom of the Pac-12 standing this year, they still are a test for UCLA at home.

The Cardinal are coming off of a 29-point comeback win on the road against Colorado next weekend.

The Bruins are going to have to find a way to shut down wide receiver Eric Ayomanor who had nearly 300 receiving yards and three touchdowns against the Buffs.

Even thought they will have to figure out how to stop Stanford's passing attack, UCLA is entering the game as 14.5 point favorites.

This could be the week that the Bruins finally find a road win in Pac-12 play.
