UCLA Football: Bruins Make Surprising NFL List

The Bruins have excelled in this NFL achievement.

UCLA's football program has had the fifth-most players make the Super Bowl among all college football teams. The Bruins have had 114 players make at least one Super Bowl appearance, only behind Michigan (130), Miami (125), rival USC (124) and Penn State (120), via Fox College Football.

The Bruins are ahead of notable programs including Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame, Auburn, Ohio State, and LSU.

The most acclaimed of these Bruins are Dallas Cowboys legend and NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman, who is a three-time Super Bowl champion and the Super Bowl XXVII MVP, the lone Bruin to win a Super Bowl MVP award.

The Bruins have seen several of their other star players make the Super Bowl. This includes New England Patriots special team ace Matthew Slater, who is a three-time Super Bowl champion and was previously a Bruin from 2004-2007.

There's also Baltimore Ravens Hall of Fame offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden, a former No. 4 overall pick and a Super Bowl XXXV champion. Another stud UCLA offensive lineman was center Randy Cross, who was a three-time Super Bowl champion with the San Francisco 49ers in the 1980s.

In this season's upcoming Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, two former UCLA Bruins are competing, with one on each team. The 49ers have center Jake Brendel representing the Bruins, while the Chiefs have defensive tackle Matt Dickerson.

Overall, the Bruins have an incredible resumé of players who have gone on to play in the Super Bowl.
