UCLA Football: Bruins Offer Sophomore Prep School QB

The Bruins are looking for their quarterback of the future.

Your UCLA Bruins are doing all they can to get their quarterback of the future. They've happened to turn to an in-state high school sophomore.

The Blue and Gold offered its first 2026 quarterback: Brady Smigiel of Newbury Park, California, as Smigiel himself revealed via his personal Twitter/X account:

Smigiel is a 6-foot-5, 205-pound play caller who attends Newbury Park High School. According to 247Sports, Smigiel is a four-star recruit, the second-best quarterback in his class, the fourth-ranked player in California, and is considered No. 30 overall prospect in the nation.

The Bruins will have their work cut out for them when it comes to securing the highly-coveted Smigiel. The sophomore  has already received 24 offers from schools, with UCLA being just his just latest such bid. Outside of that, Smigiel has received offers from Miami, Oregon State, Ole Miss, and Nebraska, to name a few.

Smigiel could be the quarterback to watch for, and we'll see if UCLA can land him when the time comes.
