UCLA Football: Bruins Officially Add Long Snapper Transfer

Bruins officially announce the addition of grad transfer long snapper Ryan Wilkins from Elon.

The UCLA Bruins officially welcomed Ryan Wilkins on Wednesday. Wilkins is a grad transfer from Elon, a Coastal Athletic Association (formerly Colonial Athletic Association) school in North Carolina.

Wilkins, a Pennsylvania native, played in 35 games across four seasons for the Phoenix and recorded three total tackles in 2023. The six-foot, 200-pound special teams player announced his scholarship acceptance from UCLA on Jan 8.

After four-and-a-half years at Elon, he announced on X, formerly Twitter, on Nov. 29, 2023, that he was entering the transfer portal.

While in high school, Wilkins helped his special teams unit lead the conference in yards per punt as a senior in 2018 and also earned playing time at tight end and linebacker.

With Beau Gardner leaving the Bruins for Georgia, Wilkins hopefully will fill the void Gardner left within the UCLA special teams unit.
