UCLA Football: Bruins Officially Name Three Coaches for 2024 Season

The Bruins have officially named three coaches for their upcoming season.

There may be rumors going on that have pegged Chip Kelly for a move to the NFL, though nothing has been substantiated on that quite yet. The noise is not enough to drown out the excitement of the upcoming UCLA Bruins season and their entrance into the Big Ten Conference.

While there are plenty of months between then and now, UCLA has officially announced three coaches who are set to guide the team into a winning season.

UCLA has announced that Kodi Whitfield will be the special teams coordinator and cornerbacks coach, Jerry Neuheisel has been named passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach, and Tim Drevno has been named running game coordinator and offensive line coach.

All three coaches offer a wealth of experience and leadership that should help the Bruins become a powerhouse in the Big Ten Conference.

"Tim, Jerry and Kodi are versatile coaches who bring different, valuable perspectives to our coaching staff," said Kelly. "They will continue to be tremendous assets for our players and me going forward."

Whitfield was a graduate assistant for UCLA before he was named cornerbacks coach in January 2023. He can now add special teams coordinator to his resume.

Drevno was an on-field assistant in 2022 but has been named as one of the best at his current position, helping the Bruins to lead the league and rank sixth overall with a ground rate of 237.2.

Neuheisel was instrumental in coaching up Jake Bobo to land a role with the Seattle Seahawks. Kazmeir Allen and Kyle Philips were also under Neuheisel's guidance, and are both on NFL teams as well.

The Bruins have a good coaching staff in place, and are sure to make some noise in the 2024 season.
