UCLA Football: Bruins Star Quarterback Enters Transfer Portal

After one season, the former five-star recruit will find a new school.

After one season as a member of the UCLA Bruin football program, former five-star recruit for the class of 2023 and highly touted freshman Dante Moore will enter the Transfer Portal

Moore started five games for the Bruins and was underwhelming during his time at UCLA. After stealing him from the Oregon Ducks, the talented freshman was a major recruiting win for the Bruins. The Michigan native was a hot commodity from Martin Luther King in Detroit, Michigan.

Now, the 18-year-old will be a free agent, essentially, and search for a new school in 2024. There's no sugarcoating this: losing Moore is a massive loss for the program as he was expected to be the program's future quarterback.

Moore explained that he is looking for a situation where they will help him maximize his talent to develop in the next few years rather than starting immediately.

"For these next upcoming years, I just want to go to a place where I can get developed," Moore told 247Sports. "That's the main thing is really development, making sure you're bettering yourself every day and having a staff around you that's going to help develop you. So I'd say the biggest things are going to a place where I can get developed and continue to love and have fun playing football and be around a place that loves college football and be around great athletes."

Moore becomes the fourth Bruin to enter the portal, which opens on December 4th. We wish Moore the best in his next journey; unfortunately, it didn't work out in Westwood, but we wish him great success and health moving forward.
