UCLA Football: Bruins Still Among Finalists For Uncommitted Local Prep Edge

Could DeShaun Foster nab him?

Your UCLA Bruins remain among the lingering contenders for the services of a standout local star.

According to Bruin Report Online, the Blue and Gold are looking to add four-star junior edge rusher Chinedu Onyeagoro, current at King Drew Magnet here in Los Angeles.

The 6'2", 220-pound prep prospect is the 23rd-ranked edge in the nation and the 24-best such talent in California, across any position, per 247Sports.

As usual when it comes to elite high schoolers, UCLA will not be without competition for his services. 19 schools have tendered offers his way, including the Bruins.

Onyeagoro will have the opportunity to take his pick, from among the Georgia, Fresno State, Yale and Mississippi State Bulldogs; the Kentucky, Northwestern and Arizona Wildcats; the Arizona State Sun Devils; the Cal Golden Bears; the Colorado State Rams; the Maryland Terrapins; the Nevada Wolf Pack; the San Jose State Spartans; the Oregon State Beavers, the Washington Huskies; the SMU Mustangs; and the UNLV Rebels.

That's quite the slate.

The Bruins' recruiting class (as recruited by previous head coach Chip Kelly) is looking a bit lackluster. Under new head coach DeShaun Foster, UCLA could use a win when it comes to key personnel additions.
