UCLA Football: Chip Kelly Reveals Update on Carson Steele's Availability for LA Bowl

Carson Steele might be suiting up for the LA Bowl.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that UCLA Bruins star RB Carson Steele was not spotted at practice. This led to much worry and speculation that Steele might have entered the transfer portal.

Coach Chip Kelly had announced that no transfer portal player would be allowed to practice and suit up for the LA Bowl game. Though Steele's absence from practice was suspect, what is even more odd is his health status has not yet been updated.

Coach Kelly sat down with reporters to dive into the LA Bowl, with the question being asked about what is going on with Carson Steele. Unfortunately, Kelly decided to be coy with the answer and stated there is no update.

What we do know is that Carson Steele is with the team, though whatever physical ailment he could be suffering from has not yet been disclosed. The hope is that he can suit up on Saturday, especially because he is the Bruins' lead rusher.

Sadly, Steeler's production took a hit during the final five games of the Bruins' schedule. He would only log one rushing touchdown in that time. It could be that he has been playing through some sort of injury that has not been revealed.

Either way, the Bruins would be in a much better spot come Saturday if Carson Steele can suit up.
