UCLA Football: Laiatu Latu Lands WIth AFC Playoff Team in Fresh Mock Draft

The star Bruins edge rusher heads to South Beach in Daniel Jeremiah's latest mock draft.

UCLA superstar edge rusher Laiatu Latu could land anywhere in the 2024 NFL draft, from a top 10 pick to the late first round.

It's a mystery where he will land, especially if teams worry about his past neck injury. Still, there's no doubting his talent and his defensive prowess. He's proven the doubters wrong in college, and he'll do the same at the pro level right away.

It's uncertain where he'll land, but NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah has Latu going to the Miami Dolphins in the late first round with the 21st overall pick.

Latu would give the Dolphins three outstanding pass rushers with Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips already in place. Keep in mind: Miami could lose Andrew Van Ginkel in free agency.

Latu would head to a playoff team and defense with elite pass rushers Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips.

Phillips will likely miss the entire year with a torn Achilles, so Latu would immediately fill that role and possibly bolster the defense.

Latu is a freak of nature, and he'll add a lot to the Miami defense which was already a formidable one. The Maimai defense was ranked number one in sack percentage at 8.42% and number nine in takeaways per game at 1.6.

The Miami defense held its own in 2023 but lost in the wild-card round. They could use all the help they could get on defense, and Latu could be the answer.

Latu at 21 would be an absolute steal for the Dolphins. We'll find out where he lands a little over two months from now.
