UCLA Football: Laiatu Latu Reveals Surprising Secondary Career Plans if Football Falls Through

Laiatu Latu has a surprising secondary career path in mind.

Laiatu Latu is set to work out at the NFL Combine to showcase his physical prowess one more time to pro teams thinking about drafting him. While he is pegged at being a first-round pickup, he does have an injury that may cause him to drop down a few spots.

Before joining the UCLA Bruins, Latu was terrorizing QBs with the Washington Huskies. During his sophomore year with the team, he suffered a neck injury that would lead to doctors informing him it would be too dangerous to continue playing.

Latu would enter the transfer portal and land with the Bruins. His football career has since rebounded, but the young linebacker revealed that he got deep into a different career while sidelined with an injury. This career is what he would choose if football does not work out.

While speaking to reporters, Latu revealed that he got "really into firefighting." Should the professional world of football not work out, he would aim to join a firehouse and become a fire chief.

That is an admirable secondary career that Latu can chase if his football career does not pan out. Considering how tenacious and hard-working he is, we imagine Latu would easily work his way to fire chief.

For now, everyone can watch Latu work out at the Combine tomorrow when the defensive lineman and linebackers report.
