UCLA Bruins true freshman quarterback Dante Moore has been thrown into the fire this season but has made the most of the opportunity. While he has had some struggles, he has also shown poise in the position.

There will always be growing pains for a freshman quarterback, but Moore has taken everything in stride. He has continued to perform well and manage this Bruins offense to the best of his ability.

Moore is still a work in progress, but we have seen signs of greatness from him. The more experience he gets playing against this level of competition, the better he will be.

He has also won over his teammates, which isn't easy to do as a freshman. It has been a key part of the Bruins' success this season, but Moore has earned it even with his learning process.

“It’s just a steady progression,” Bruins tight end Moliki Matavao said of Moore. “He’s just a kid who’s just taken on this role and doing so well with it. He’s just grown and been able to make mistakes on the field and then learn from it and come back and forget (the mistake) with a clean slate and have that next-play mentality. He’s good at that.”

Through five games this season, Moore has thrown 1,139 yards and nine touchdowns. He does have four interceptions, so he will need to limit the turnovers moving forward, but he is still learning how to read defenses at this level.

If Moore can continue to run this offense smoothly, the Bruins could make some real noise in the Pac-12. They have the defense and running game to be a great team, and now just need their young signal-caller to do his part.
