Mark Schroller was born to be a Bruin.

The four-star OL signed with UCLA during the first signing day period. He was widely considered to be a jewel within the Bruins' 2024 recruiting class.

Schroller's dad Karl played for the Bruins during the 90s. His mom also graduated from UCLA. Being season ticket holders for years, it's safe to say the UCLA fandom runs very deep with this family.

With Chip Kelly leaving for Ohio State, the group of 2024 UCLA signees -- both from the high school ranks and the transfer portal -- could be heavily pursued by other programs. Does this mean Schroller would consider leaving for somewhere else?

Based on Schroller's post on X, it appears as if he's sticking with his pledge.

This would be a massive development for whoever the next head coach is. Schroller is one of the better offensive tackles on the West Coast. Hailing from Mission Viejo High School, Schroller picked UCLA over reported offers from the likes of Wisconsin, Auburn, Arizona State, Arkansas, Stanford, Texas A&M, Washington State, and Vanderbilt.

In other words, he'd have no shortage of options. Another player from UCLA's recruiting class -- OL Marquise Thorpe-Taylor -- also appears to be sticking with the Bruins.

Thorpe-Taylor hails from right outside of Seattle. At 6'5" and 315 pounds, he's another highly-touted offensive lineman from the West Coast.

The talented athlete surprised many when selecting UCLA over offers from USC, Oregon, Washington, and Tennessee.

Should Thorpe-Taylor and Schroller remain in Westwood, it'll give UCLA two talented players to build a future offensive line around. There's considerable upside with both, and with proper development, each can one day become an all-conference-level player.
