UCLA Phenom QB Dante Moore Grabs Pac-12 Freshman of the Week

He's arrived on the national scene.

Breaking into the AP Top 25 after winning on the road against San Diego State, the Bruins had even more to cheer for in the fallout of their victory against the Aztecs.

Capturing a prestigious award, UCLA signal caller Dante Moore continued his hot streak to begin the 2023 season in a dominant performance against SDSU's defense.

Throwing for nearly 300 yards in the road victory, Moore's production left many fans continuing to voice their support that the freshman should be the full-time starter for the Bruins even after coach Chip Kelly insisted on a multi-QB system.

After completing 63% of his passes, Moore cleaned up his game from last week by hitting on 5% more of his passes over the weekend and staying turnover-free after throwing a pick against Coastal Carolina.

Tossing three touchdowns in the Bruins' victory was an all-around great showing for Moore, as the highlight of his afternoon came on a long touchdown pass off of a beautiful play-action fake.

Taking the ball from his running back, Jordan Norwood was found wide open and untouched on his 81-yard streak to paydirt in the most impressive play of a dominant UCLA victory.

Scoring on five separate occasions, the Aztec defense had no answer for either aspect of the Bruin offense as UCLA's ground game also remained potent against their week two opponent.

Getting rushing scores from Carson Steele and TJ Harden in addition to two more touchdowns through the air from Logan Loya and Carsen Ryan, it was an all-around performance for the now 24th-ranked team in the country.

Looking to make such a ranking worthwhile, Moore and the rest of the UCLA squad will continue to build momentum as they take on NC Central in their Week 3 matchup.
