The UCLA Bruins will have a new starting quarterback under center when the season commences on September 2nd against Coastal Carolina.

The 2023 will be one to look forward to; however, the question of 'who will be the starting QB' remains intact. The quarterback battle is much anticipated and will likely go down to the wire.

The Bruins have five QBs on their depth chart, and although freshman Dante Moore is getting all the shine, others will try to prove they should be QB1, like transfer Collin Schlee.

Schlee is coming from Kent State after only throwing for 13 touchdowns and 2,109 yards. Although those numbers don't stand out, Schlee is looking to do his part and get the starting job. After practice, the junior spoke to the media and talked about how he's approaching the QB competition.

"Football is football. We're all going to come out here and compete with each other every day. I mean, if it's first string or fifth string, you're going to compete for starting spot, so none of that really matters. You know, give it your best shot, your best option. Competing with these guys is definitely fun because we got a good group and a quarterback room, so we just come out here and get better because the guys in the room make you better."

In his collegiate career, he's completed 181 completions, a passing percentage of 59.7, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions with a rating of 142.1.

He's only played in 22 games and has limited chances to shine. He committed to UCLA back in December after a solid 2022 campaign.

We'll see how things fair with the battle, and we wish all the QBs the best.
