UCLA Football: Browns Fans React To Dorian Thompson-Robinson's First NFL Start

Not what we expected from the former Bruin

Dorian Thompson-Robinson's debut in the NFL wasn't the smoothest ride. The rookie from UCLA found himself in the starting quarterback role for the Cleveland Browns, filling in for the injured Deshaun Watson, who was dealing with a shoulder issue.

It was a challenging initiation into professional football, and the unforgiving realm of social media, especially Twitter, didn't hold back its criticism.

Thompson-Robinson's stat line from the game against the Baltimore Ravens was less than stellar, with 121 passing yards, a completion rate of 19-for-36, and a disappointing zero touchdowns paired with three interceptions.

It was a tough outing, to say the least. However, it's important to remember that rookies often need time to find their rhythm in the NFL.

DTR himself acknowledged his subpar performance and didn't mince words about it.

“This organization, this team, everybody from the draft process on up has put their faith into me, especially being the No. 2,” said Thompson-Robinson. “Today is not what the picture of a No. 2 quarterback should look like.”

With patience and opportunity, there's potential for improvement in his future outings. Whether he gets another shot soon or has to wait for his chance down the line, one thing is clear: the path ahead involves growth and learning in the rough and tumbling world of the NFL.
