UCLA Football: Bruins Offer 2025 Safety Ethan Long

Ethan Long, a dual sport athlete, is one of the top high school safeties in the North East.

Brunswick School (Greenwich, CT) 2025 safety Ethan Long took to X/Twitter today to announce he had received a scholarship offer extended to him by UCLA assistant head coach Brian Norwood.

UCLA joins a competitive list of programs to offer the 6-2 185-pound safety. Michigan, Michigan State, and Notre Dame all offered Long in the spring, and over the summer, Penn State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin joined that list too.

On3 considers Long the 4th best player in his class out of the State of Connecticut, the 32nd-best safety in 2025, and a top 400 player nationally. According to Irish Breakdown Reporter Ryan Roberts, Long is very high on Notre Dame. In a November interview, Long told Roberts "Some teams see me as a free safety with the ability to come down... Others see me as a man-to-man cover rover. They are interested to see how I continue to grow physically. I really think I can do everything and be versatile".

Ethan also has said Ohio State is one of the schools he is taking seriously.

UCLA currently has no commits in their 2025 class. That commitment list should grow over the coming months, as the Bruins wrap up the finishing pieces of their 2024 class with the winter transfer portal window closing this week.

Ethan Long looks like a promising prospect, and will have one more year to fill out an ideal 6-2 frame before stepping foot onto the college gridiron. AllBruins.com will be following the recruitment of Long as it develops.
