Our Saviour Lutheran School (N.Y.) senior and future UNC basketball guard Ian Jackson backed up his recent jump to No. 7 in the latest On3 Ranking for the 2024 recruiting class with a 32-point performance Thursday night, lifting his squad to a 100-79 win over talent-rich Prolific Prep (Calif.) in Queens.

Then, on Saturday, the 6-foot-5, 185-pound Jackson inked his national letter of intent to play for the Tar Heels next season.

The UNC basketball program formally announced the signing on Sunday via the following post on social media:

Ian Jackson is one of three 2024 Tar Heel signees, joining Northwood High School (N.C.) five-star forward Drake Powell and Link Academy (Mo.) four-star center James Brown; Powell and Brown each signed their national letter of intent earlier in the week. On the 247Sports 2024 Composite, Powell ranks ninth overall, Jackson 10th, and Brown 68th.

On3 ranks UNC's collection second in the country behind Duke's five-deep haul (including four composite five-star prospects).

However, 247Sports has the Tar Heels in third, below the Blue Devils and Missouri (the Tigers boast five four-star talents).

Meanwhile, UNC's 2024 efforts might be complete, as there are no reports of the Tar Heels actively pursuing any undecided 2024 recruits. So, their ranking in the cycle, which was once at the top, may drop a few more times before all is said and done.
