Incoming USC freshman point guard Isaiah Collier has been hailed as, at the very least a no-brainer lottery pick in 2024, should he opt to go the one-and-done route in college (which, let's be real, he will).

While Kyle Boone of CBS Sports doesn't rank Collier among his top four favorites to emerge as the top selection next year, he does unpack how that could happen in a new article.

Boone lists Collier as a dark horse candidate to be picked first overall, behind G League Ignite forwards Matas Buzelis and Ron Holland, and Kentucky wing Justin Edward and combo guard DJ Wagner.

Collier, a 6'4" point guard out of Murrieta, Georgia generally considered to be the top high schooler in his graduating class this year, is the starriest prospect in an incoming USC freshman group ranked third nationwide.

In a detailed breakdown of Collier's upside, Boone explains what would need to go right for him to emerge as the de facto top prospect in next year's draft.

"The opportunities for Collier to showcase himself as a potential No. 1 pick in the coming year will not be an issue," Boone writes. "The USC-bound combo guard will be a centerpiece of a Trojans team that will draw a ton of attention with LeBron James' son Bronny James, who is spending the upcoming season at USC. Collier was once ranked as the No. 1 player in his class and profiles as a true lead guard with some of the best passing vision and playmaking among draft-eligible players in the 2024 draft class."

The sky's the limit for this young gun. Can you tell we can't wait to see him in action in the cardinal and gold?
