Expert Names Freshman USC Guard as Darkhorse Option for 2024 Number 1 Overall Pick

In this story:
Isaiah Collier has all of the tools to be great at the college level and even beyond that at the NBA level when he decides to declare. Standing at 6'4, he's able to see the floor very well and also get to the rim at will. Collier faced off against some of the best competition possible during his days at Wheeler High School and scouts have been high on him for quite some time now.
Many opposing fanbases were pretty surprised when Collier announced that he would be attending USC for his freshman season seeing that he was an undisputed top-two recruit when his high school career came to an end. However, he came out and said that the coaching staff won him over and that he loves the idea of putting together a family-like environment with the rest of his teammates.
Therefore, 2024 NBA mock drafts have been rolling out and experts believe he could make a running for the number one overall pick. CBS Sports' Kyle Boone thinks that he'll have the stage to prove it this year.
"The opportunities for Collier to showcase himself as a potential No. 1 pick in the coming year will not be an issue. The USC-bound combo guard will be a centerpiece of a Trojans team that will draw a ton of attention with
LeBron James
' son Bronny James, who is spending the upcoming season at USC. Collier was once ranked as the No. 1 player in his class and profiles as a true lead guard with some of the best passing vision and playmaking among draft-eligible players in the 2024 draft class."

Collier will definitely be a lottery pick no matter what but if he became the number one overall pick, that would be quite special!
