In this story:

Majority of the attention towards the USC Trojans has been focused on the squad that is coming together for the 2023-2024 season and rightfully so, they have quite the intriguing mix of both veteran returners along with some of the biggest names in high school basketball kicking off their freshman campaigns.

However, we have to show some love to a former Trojans guard in Drew Peterson who made his summer league debut with the Miami Heat after he went un-drafted and and opted to sign with them. Peterson spent three seasons with USC and his final campaign was his best seeing how he was able to average 13 points and four assists over the span of 33 games.

Peterson was named a starter in Miami's 107-90 win over the Los Angeles Lakers and even though the Trojans community may have felt a bit weird seeing him take the floor alongside former UCLA Bruins' star Jaime Jaquez, the two were gelling quite well.

The 6'9 guard brought even more size to a tall Heat starting lineup and even though he scored just four points and went one for three from the field, he was making sure the offense was flowing well and finding the rest of his teammates nicely.

Take a look at some his best passes down below.

Coming into the NBA as an un-drafted player also means you have a chip on your shoulder and it could be argued that Miami does the best when it comes to identifying un-drafted talent. We wish him the best of luck in the rest of the summer league!
