USC Basketball: Star Freshman Guard Reflects On Career-High Vs Stanford

The Trojans needed this one.

Your USC Trojans' 93-79 victory over the Stanford Cardinal was highlighted by an eruption from their starting perimeter trio of Kobe Johnson, Boogie Ellis, and Isaiah Collier, who combined for 69 points.

Collier in particular was impressive, putting up 26 points in what was more or less a bounce-back performance given how he's played of late as the Trojans have been skidding.

Here's what he had to say about his performance:

Collier's humble response to his big night reflects the kind of player he is, as he described the win as "great," especially given that it was in conference play.

The Trojans remain just 2-2 in Pac-12 play, however, losing to both Oregon and Oregon State on the road prior to taking down Cal and Stanford at home.

With a matchup against the 10-5 Washington State Cougars on the horizon, the Trojans should look to continue their hot shooting and hope that their main three guys continue to perform at a high level.

USC has had issues with three-point shooting, offensive consistency, and defense at varying levels thus far, meaning that Collier, who got hot from three against the Cardinal, will be a key piece in their hopeful improvement down the stretch in a competitive Pac-12.
