USC Basketball: Where Isaiah Collier Lands On New Freshman Power Rankings

In Jamie Shaw of On3's Week 2 freshman basketball power rankings, USC Trojans guard Isaiah Collier lands atop the list.

The 6-foot-5 freshman guard began his season with an 18-point, 6-assist outing against Kansas State, and in spite of injuries to several key contributors up and down the roster, USC sits at 3-1.

Collier has put up averages of 21 points, 4 assists, and a steal, while shooting 80.6% from the free throw line, and has looked even better by the eye test, pushing the pace in transition and using his size and physicality to generate advantages against smaller guards.

With USC being No. 23 in the AP Poll, Collier is the best player on a ranked team that has conference-winning upside, certainly making him worthy of being the top freshman in the country.

Ahead of USC's tough slate of games in the next few weeks – including contests against Seton Hall, Gonzaga, and Auburn, expect USC to get healthier, reducing the load placed on the freshman guard, improving both his, and the team's performance.
