Your USC Women of Troy basketball team recently revealed that it is going to extreme preseason lengths to gear up for 2023-24.

As the Trojans revealed on their Twitter account, they took up the daunting task of ascending the Santa Monica Stairs last Saturday morning.

It's a tandem of stairs that travel from Adelaide Drive to Santa Monica Canyon.

The shorter staircase (on the 500 block from 526 Adelaide Drive to Entrada Drive) runs 110 feet long and consists of 170 steps.

The lengthier stairway, which runs from the 4th Street-Adelaide intersection to Ocean Avenue Extension, is 115 feet long and has 189 steps.

During head coach Lindsay Gottlieb's second season with the program in 2022-23, she steered your Women of Troy to their first NCAA Tournament berth in nine years. The club netted a 21-10 record (11-7 in Pac-12 play) that season, but is clearly looking to build on that this year.

Top-ranked recruit Juju Watkins, a six-foot combo guard out of Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, and four-star guard Malia Samuels out of Garfield High School in Washington headline the club's incoming additions as it aims to improve its March Madness play.

Hear's hoping that staircase cardio can help the club improve its endurance for all those fastbreaks.
