USC Football: Caleb Williams Adds to Trojan Lore with Stellar Performance

Williams is truly one of one

USC football is back, Trojan fans. It's the best time of the year, especially when your Trojans are in contention for the college football playoff.

The team has brought in a ton of star transfers and true freshmen, but none reign supreme over their Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, Caleb Williams. It is Caleb's world, and we're just living in it; he proved that once again with his Week 0 performance against the San Jose State Spartans.

Willaims went off, going 18-for-25, 275 yards, four touchdowns, and a QBR of 85.0.

It was another in the office for the 21-year-old, and with that came another historical performance that moved him closer to USC lore.

His four-touchdown performance tied him with another USC Heisman Trophy winner, Matt Leinart, for the most games with four touchdowns in the past 25 years.

The vast difference between Matt's 10 four-touchdown games and Williams is it took Caleb 24 fewer games.

At times, Williams toys with defenders, and he's out there as a human joystick. The dude is unreal, and if you think he looked sloppy in his first performance, think again.

This is only the beginning for Williams, and he will only get better from here on out. These records are nice, but we know there's only one goal in mind for the future number-one pick: a national championship.

This is a great first step to accomplish that, and we're sure there will be more four-touchdown performances in 2023.
