The USC Trojans have been plenty busy on the defensive side of the ball. Head coach Lincoln Riley made it a point to elevate his lacking unit by bringing over UCLA defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn in a move that shocked everyone.

Adding Lynn was already impressive enough, but Riley was not done there. He would then bring on Mike Entz from North Dakota State to serve as the new linebackers coach and assistant head coach on the defensive side of things. Riley also coupled that hire with Doug Belk, who is set to become the new defensive backs coach.

After a hugely disappointing season for the defensive side of the ball, Riley made it a point to clean house and get a new staff in place. Though three hires were already plenty, it appears he is not done yet.

Chris Trevino revealed that Riley is still "not finalized." We are unsure who else will be on the chopping block, but it appears as though Riley is ensuring he will not take the blame for another Alex Grinch situation.

The Trojans had a high-powered offense this season that was often marred by the lack of defensive output. With the team heading into the Big Ten Conference, Riley is making sure they will have far more success and can compete in the College Football Playoffs.

Many believed the team had the talent in place to make a run this season, but that would not come to fruition. However, with this new coaching staff in place, we expect big things from USC in 2024.
