USC Football News: Trojans Recognized as June's Recruiting Winners in Pac-12

In this story:

USC has always been great at recruiting players to come play for them. It’s the appeal of playing for a historic team plus being in Southern California that has played wanting to come be a part of the Trojan family. Even during the team's down seasons, USC remained steady in their recruitment process, but now as the school looks to turn a corner, it’s stronger than ever.

Bringing in a coach like Lincoln Riley last season, the Trojans reminded everyone who they were and what the school was made of. Riley holds a ton of respect around the county as an offensive genius, as his teams are always toward the top of the list in terms of total offense. It's why they were able to land reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams and former Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison last season.

This helps bring in recruits, as offense is the name of the game, especially in college football. Kids want to play for a school that will do multiple things. First off, help them possibly compete for a national title during their time there and secondly, help them grow into talented prospects that are capable of reaching the NFL.

Rivals.com recently released their list of Pac-12 winners and losers in terms of recruitment for the month of June, and USC made the list as a clear winner.

“Fourteen of 17 commits for USC came in June as the Trojans loaded up as well. USC did great work locally with four-stars Ryan Pellum, Marcelles Williams, Dakoda Fields and others and then went to Florida for four-stars Jason Zandamela and Jarvis Boatwright along with Texas, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and other locales.”

Per Rivals.com

This is in no small way because of Riley and the success that the team had last season. Players see USC as a gateway to the NFL if they can perform and they get to compete for a title as well.

USC should only continue to gain strong recruitment classes as the years go on, with Riley leading the charge. The Trojans are back, and college football should be scared.
