UVA will face Army on Friday at 12pm ET, while Oklahoma and East Carolina will face each other on Friday at 7pm. The four teams will play a double-elimination round robin until one team is left standing as the regional champion. Virginia was one of 16 schools selected as a regional host site for the first time since 2016 and 10th time in program history. UVA is a top 8 national seed for the fifth time in program history and first time since 2014, when the Cavaliers advanced all the way to the finals of the College World Series. As a top 8 seed, the Cavaliers are guaranteed to host the Super Regional, should they advance out of the Charlottesville Regional.

Virginia is making its third-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 20th appearance in program history. The Cavaliers are seeking their sixth trip to the College World Series and first since 2021.

Virginia has NCAA Tournament history with each of the other three participating teams in the Charlottesville Regional. UVA faced Army in the opening game of the Charlottesville Regional in both the 2012 and 2013 NCAA Baseball Tournaments, with the Cavaliers prevailing over the Black Knights 9-1 in 2012 and 2-1 in 2013. Virginia faced East Carolina in the Greenville Regional of the 2022 NCAA Baseball Tournament, falling to the No. 8-seed Pirates 4-2 in the second game of the regional. UVA also fell to East Carolina in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, but defeated the Pirates 13-1 in 2011 to advance to the Super Regional.

UVA and Oklahoma have faced each other four times in the NCAA Tournament, with the Sooners winning three out of the four matchups. The Sooners and Cavaliers matched up in the 2010 Super Regional in Charlottesville. Virginia took the opening game 3-2, but Oklahoma won the second game 10-7 and the deciding game 11-0. The Sooners then eliminated the Cavaliers for the second time in three years in 2012, beating Virginia 5-4 in an elimination game again in Charlottesville.

The full schedule for the Charlottesville Regional has yet to be announced, but the first games of the regional will be played on Friday, June 2nd at Disharoon Park.
