The list of high-profile recruiting targets scheduled to visit Virginia this fall continues to grow. This time, one of UVA's emerging top targets in the class of 2025 will come to town, as four-star forward Jacob Wilkins, the son of Hall of Fame basketball star Dominique Wilkins and half brother of current UVA assistant coach Isaiah Wilkins, has reportedly scheduled an official visit to Virginia for October 13th.

Wilkins, a 6'9" wing from Atlanta, Georgia, is the first recruit from the class of 2025 to schedule a visit to Virginia, who joined Alabama, Cincinnati, Georgia, and Indiana in extending an offer to Wilkins on July 18th.

More offers from major conference programs are likely to arrive soon as Wilkins is now rated a consensus four-star prospect across each of the major recruiting services. 247Sports rates Wilkins as the No. 29 overall recruit in the class of 2025 as well as the No. 5 small forward in the country and the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia.

Dominique Wilkins enjoyed an accomplished basketball career that included nine NBA All-Star selections, but he is most remembered for his dunking prowess as evidenced by him being a two-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion. It should come as no surprise then that his son is blessed with remarkable athleticism and dunking ability. Jacob Wilkins, who plays for Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia, is long and athletic, but he also has a smooth perimeter jumper that makes him a nightmare to guard. With two years remaining in his high school career, Wilkins could end up developing into one of the top prospects in the country in the recruiting class of 2025.

The next two months will be very busy for Virginia on the recruiting front, with five recruits expected to visit UVA officially:

  • September 8th: 2024 four-star forward Jacob Cofie
  • September 14th: 2024 five-star wing Kon Knueppel
  • September 21st: 2024 four-star forward Matthew Hodge
  • October 13th: 2025 four-star forward Jacob Wilkins
  • October 20th: 2024 four-star forward David Punch
