Virginia continues to beef up its receiving corps in the transfer portal. One day after landing a commitment from North Carolina wideout transfer Andre Greene Jr., the Cavaliers scored again by picking up a transfer commitment from Kent State wide receiver Trell Harris, who pledged to UVA on Saturday evening. Harris comes to Virginia with two years of eligibility remaining.

A 6'1", 187-pound wideout from La Grange, Illinois, Harris appeared in 19 games over his two seasons at Kent State. He played in 11 games for the Golden Flashes in 2023, including five starts, and tallied 26 receptions for 400 yards and a touchdown, averaging 15.4 yards per catch.

Harris entered the transfer portal at the end of the season and picked up several Power Five offers, including Pittsburgh, Michigan State, Indiana, West Virginia, Minnesota, Vanderbilt and others. Virginia was one of the first programs to offer Harris back on December 6th and UVA was the first to host him a few days later. Per Wahoos 247, Tony Elliott, Des Kitchings, and Adam Mims later went and visited Harris at home, making their final pitch.

That did the trick, as Harris officially committed to Virginia on Saturday. In doing so, Harris becomes the third receiver to transfer to UVA in the last few weeks, joining Notre Dame's Chris Tyree and North Carolina's Andre Greene Jr., who committed on Friday.

Trell Harris is the seventh transfer commitment Virginia has picked up this offseason, joining Notre Dame wide receiver Chris Tyree, Akron linebacker Corey Thomas Jr., Harvard tight end Tyler Neville, Penn defensive back Kendren Smith, UCF offensive lineman Drake Metcalf, and North Carolina wide receiver Andre Greene Jr.
