Brogdon's 23 Points Leads Celtics to Game 2 Blowout Win Over Sixers

In desperate need of a win to avoid suffering back-to-back home losses to go down 0-2 in the series, the Boston Celtics got a massive lift from Malcolm Brogdon off the bench and rolled to a 121-87 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 2 on Wednesday night to even the series at one game apiece.
Brogdon, who two weeks ago was named the 2022-2023 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, recorded his second-straight 20-point game. His 23 points nearly matched the 26 points scored by the Sixers' entire bench unit combined. The former Wahoo was 7/15 from the field and knocked down a playoff career-high six three-pointers, including a flurry of three three-pointers late in the third quarter to help the Celtics build an insurmountable 27-point lead entering the fourth quarter.

Brogdon also tallied six rebounds, two assists, and a block and was +11 in 24 minutes. Brogdon has scored in double figures in each of his last seven games and is averaging 21.5 points per game so far in the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Sixers.
Brogdon is looking to return to the conference finals for the first time since 2019, when he reached the Eastern Conference Finals in his final season with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Game 3 between the Celtics and Sixers is set for Friday at 7:30pm ET in Philadelphia.
