Washington coach Kalen DeBoer has stated his intentions to close on the majority of his yearly recruiting class during the months of May, June and July during spring practice. As recruits begin to schedule official visits, it appears his coaching staff is looking to take the same approach as it did in 2023.

The Huskies hosted 20 recruits over the week beginning on June 20 and earned commitments from 15 of them. While Lincoln Keinholz and Sua Lefotu ended up decommitting and signing with Ohio State and Nebraska, respectively, it's clear that the coaching staff likes to group its biggest targets together.

This year, that starts on June 17. Headlined by four-star linebacker Kamar Mothudi and four-star receiver Kwazi Gilmer, the coaching staff clearly wanted to get a few of its top targets on campus at the same time as three-star quarterback commit EJ Caminong.

While there are still more than a few prospects that the staff is hoping to set visits, it also has put together a star-studded cast that will be arriving on June 23. Headlined by four-star offensive line commit Paki Finau and four-star defensive lineman Jericho Johnson, currently 11 prospects are slated to visit that weekend.

Among other top targets who have confirmed they'll be in Seattle that weekend are four-star wide receiver Emmett Mosley, three-star edge rusher Anelu Lafaele, and three-star linebackers Khmori House and Kingston Lopa.

It appears co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach William Inge is trying to go big at linebacker this year, with three-star linebacker Michael Boganowski seemingly another name who will be taking an official visit to Washington in June. It's also worth noting that Caminong is the only in-state prospect with a visit set up as of Wednesday, May 10.

Expect a few more official visits to be finalized soon and, for most of the next wave, to include a few bigger-name targets. After Finau's announcement, it feels like the coaching staff has gained some momentum, and a few more prospects might commit before the big week of visits.

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
