WVU Baseball Tournament Projection - 5/17

It's hard to believe but just like that, the final series of the regular season is here. West Virginia begins a three-game set against the Texas Longhorns on Thursday with a lot to play for. With just one win, the Mountaineers will clinch the Big 12 regular season title and the No. 1 seed in next week's Big 12 tournament in Arlington.
WVU dropped game one to Texas Tech over the weekend but bounced back in a big way, pummeling the Red Raiders 17-2 on Saturday and then took the series in a hard-fought battle, 5-3, on Sunday.
For the past several weeks, West Virginia has been projected to host a regional and for the second straight week, they find themselves in the top eight of D1Baseball's tournament projection meaning they would be in line to host a super regional should they advance.
Here is the current projection for the Mountaineers:
1. West Virginia vs. 4. Rider
2. Tennessee vs. 3. Notre Dame
