West Virginia got off to a good start in Big 12 Conference play by taking two of three from Kansas State on the road. Unfortunately for the Mountaineers, they were unable to build on the opening series win as they dropped two games to Kansas over the weekend. 

As a result, WVU fell out of the top 25 rankings.
