Chester Frazier to Join WVU Coaching Staff

Tuesday evening, Jeremy Werner of Illini Inquirer reported that Illinois head coach Brad Underwood revealed that assistant coach Chester Frazier would be joining Darian DeVries’ staff at West Virginia.
Frazier played at Illinois from 2005-09 and played professionally overseas for a few years with BG Göttingen and s.Oliver Baskets before entering the coaching space.
In 2010, he joined Bruce Weber’s staff at Illinois as a graduate assistant and then followed him to Kansas State to be an assistant. From 2019-21, Frazier was the associate head coach at Virginia Tech for Mike Young. He’s spent the last three seasons back with the Illini under Brad Underwood.
Frazier becomes the second assistant coach to make the move to WVU, joining Nick Norton.
