UT-Martin Transfer Guard Puts WVU in 'Final Six'

New West Virginia head coach Darian DeVries is still in the process of finalizing his coaching staff, but that's not keeping him from hitting the recruiting trail.
DeVries has already made contact with a handful of players in the transfer portal, including some of the guys he coached at Drake. According to Joe Tipton of On3 Sports, West Virginia has made the "final six" for UT-Martin transfer guard Jordan Sears. Others that made the cut include Alabama, Arizona State, LSU, South Carolina, and Texas Tech.

Sears (5'11", 185 lbs) is a two-time All-OVC First Team selection and is coming off a year in which he averaged 21.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 43% from the floor AND from three-point range. He connected on 76/176 shots from deep, which puts him 10th nationally.
With the uncertainty of Kerr Kriisa's status, Sears would be a solid two-way addition at the point who plays with tremendous effort on both ends of the floor. He may be a little undersized, but he's considered to be one of the top transfer guards on the market.
He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
