What Bob Huggins Said Following the Win Over Texas Tech

WVU head coach Bob Huggins discusses the first round win over the Red Raiders.

How this team is playing much better down the stretch

"Our turnovers are down. We're rebounding the ball better. I think we know each other better. I think we're making plays now that we couldn't make early because we thought they were going to zig and they zagged. Now we better understand each other."

Rebounding vs Texas Tech

"It's big. Anytime you can get more possessions, be it an offensive rebound, be it a steal, be it forcing a turnover, the key is getting the ball back.

Finding leadership recently

"Keddy [Johnson] has always been that guy. Keddy's what? A sixth-year guy I think? He's been a great leader for us. Erik [Stevenson]'s been a really good leader as well. We got a lot of upperclassmen and they know t his is it and they want to make a run, so they're trying to help the younger guys certainly get better and do the right things."

Jim Boeheim retiring

"Well, honestly, I'm surprised. He's a basketball die-hard. He was coaching when I was playing and we talk about that occasionally. I made two free throws to put 'em away, so we talk about that occasionally. He's an absolutely great guy. He's a fun guy to be around. I think a lot people misunderstand what a really good guy he is and his humor. He's had an absolutely incredible career from player at Syracuse to what he's done, what he's won. That's hard to do. And that's hard to stay at the top."

Being the winningest active head coach in college basketball

"Honestly, I don't think about those things unless I come in here and listen to you guys. I mean, I don't know. My dad was a coach. My dad was probably the most successful coach in the history of Ohio basketball and he never really pay any attention. He didn't care. It means I'm old, I guess. Getting older anyway."
