Clark Earns Big 12 Weekly Honors

On Monday, West Virginia University starting pitcher Derek Clark was named the Big 12 Pitcher and Newcomer of the Week.

The junior helped clinch the series against Kansas on Saturday with his, recording seven strikeouts in a complete game shutout, his third of the season. He allowed just three hits and gave up a mere two walks, and in a tightly contested game, Clark retired 13 of the 14 batters that came to the plate.

Clark is 3-0 on the season and holds a 1.70 ERA with 31 strikeouts on the season.
