Breaking: Emmerson Tenner Commits to West Virginia

Darian DeVries adds his first recruit outside of the family tree.

Thursday night, West Virginia men's head basketball coach Darian DeVries picked up the first commitment during his tenure in Morgantown that comes from outside his family tree. Class of 2024 guard Emerson "KJ" Tenner announced his pledge to the program on Twitter.

Tenner initially committed to Drake over other offers from Arkansas State, Bradley, Central Michigan, Murray State, North Alabama, and Texas State among others.

This past season, Tenner averaged 21.2 points, 4.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game.
