As the Wisconsin Badgers prepare to face off against the Illinois Fighting Illini, both teams have more than just a win on their minds. Wisconsin, sitting at 4-2 and 2-1 in Big Ten play, is looking to rebound after a disappointing loss to Iowa. On the other hand, Illinois (3-4, 1-3 B1G) aims to find its footing in the Big Ten. But this isn't just another game; it's an opportunity for revenge. Last year, the Badgers lost to Illinois at Camp Randall. Here are three bold predictions for the game.

Prediction 1: Braedyn Locke Will Pass for More than 250 Yards

With starting quarterback Tanner Mordecai sidelined indefinitely, redshirt freshman Braedyn Locke will be the man under center for Wisconsin. While the loss of Mordecai is certainly a blow to the Badgers, Locke has an opportunity to make a statement in his first start. Illinois has lost 176 rushing yards with only 1069 rushing yards gained while the Badgers have only lost 94 rushing yards with 1209 rushing yards gained. Look for  Locke to take advantage of this and throw for at least 250 yards.

Prediction 2: Illinois Will Struggle to Score

The Fighting Illini have not been particularly potent this season, with an average of 20.29 points per game. On the other hand, Wisconsin, despite last week's setback, is still a strong unit averaging 27.2 points per game. The Illini have totaled 893 rushing yards while Wisconsin has totaled 1115 rushing yards. Wisconsin's offense is averaging  398.5 yards per game while Illinois is only averaging 371.6 yards per game. Look for Wisconsin to hold Illinois to fewer than 20 points, capitalizing on the Illini's penchant for turnovers.

Prediction 3: Illinois Will Have Over 100 Yards in Penalties

The Illini's offense has built up 435 yards in penalties on 45 violations so far this season. Considering the high-stakes nature of this game, we think that the Illini will be more susceptible to making mistakes.. Our bold prediction is that Illinois will rack up over 100 yards in penalties, further dampening their chances of a win.

Final Thoughts

For Wisconsin, this is a chance for redemption and an opportunity for new heroes to emerge. With a substitute quarterback for Wisconsin and an Illinois team that is struggling, this matchup could provide some unexpected drama. But if our predictions hold true, it will be Wisconsin walking away with a statement win.
