Apex Legends Dev Asks Players Their Thoughts on Season 19: Ignite

Respawn Devs ask Twitter what their thoughts are on Season 19: Ignite for Apex Legends and it's mostly positive feedback!

Apex Legends Season 19 Ignite Players Reactions to Conduit, Storm Point Changes, Ranked and Cross Progression

  • Conduit is being very well received with players loving her tactical, but wishing her passive was more useful.
  • With over 40% of the Storm Point changed, players feel like the map is new and fresh.
  • Ranked Promotional Trials don’t seem to be as much of a hit with Solo Q players being hurt the most by it.

Apex Legends Season 19: Ignite is off to a pretty good start and Respawn Entertainment Devs are already looking to the players for feedback. Josh Medina the Senior Producer at Respawn for Apex Legends put a tweet out on Twitter asking players what their thoughts on the new season are after a day playing he. He also notes they are aware of the new shield duping using the respawn changes and are looking into it.

Conduit is a Hit!

While there are plenty of valid criticisms about the new Legend Conduit, overall she seems to be a major hit. She’s got a fresh and fun personality, a great aesthetic that makes her stand out and brings some new moves to the Apex games.

SoaR Lex, a content creator for SoarGaming does point out that her ult could deploy a bit more quickly though (NiceWigg also agrees with this). She also says that Storm Point is amazing and the new POIs are great. Though the Wingman and L-Star feel very overpowered and could do with a nerf.

Another streamer and content creator Hayshmitty agrees that Conduit has been extremely fun to play, but her passive ability doesn’t seem all that useful. If your teammates go down before you have a chance to reach them, or even deploy your ult, it’s practically wasted. Besides that though she gives a chef's kiss to the Storm Point changes and the Conduit’s tactical ability.

Storm Point Feels Like a New Map

Season 19: Ignite introduced six major POI changes to the map and plenty of other smaller ones that players will run into as they progress in the season. According to the Respawn Entertainment Developers, over 40% of the map has seen changes and it shows.

NiceWigg, content creator for 100Thieves says that they play just as well as they look. On his recent steam reaction to the changes he says that the map has never been more ready for professional play in the ALGS.

He does give some caution on the ranked changes, saying it could still need some work but it’s still a bit early to judge.

While the Storm Point changes are something to celebrate, it was already a pretty well liked map. Broken Moon on the other hand, doesn’t seem to be anyone's favorite and some players wish it had gotten the make-over instead of Storm Point like Luminosity Content Creator Karim Cheese.

Apex Legends Ranked Still Needs Work

While some players have seemed pleased with the ranked changes, such as the boost to Ladder Points, other changes haven’t been as well received. The Promotional Trials, which players need to beat in order to ascend from one rank to the next, seem particularly harsh if you’re solo queueing.

One Twitter user mentions how random the LP loss seems to be and that Promotional Trials and their Challenges should have loss forgiveness if someone doesn’t load in properly.

AwesomeAndrewTV agrees that the new trials are especially brutal for players who are queuing into the game solo. When teammates go down to quickly, it’s left entirely up to you to get a 3-6 kill game solo or win the match.

Overall, Ignite is Lit

It seems that the general consensus for Apex Legends Season 19: Ignite is that players are really enjoying it. From the massive Storm Point changes, to the addition of Conduit, there will always be a few bugs and balance changes to work out. But overall, there seem to be more positive posts on Josh’s post than otherwise.

Content Creator Liquid Tiffa from Team Liquid says the game feels smooth and she truly loves it. Conduit feels perfectly balanced and everything else is good for her so far.
