When Is VALORANT Coming to Console?
VALORANT is one of the most popular competitive games of 2023 but it’s currently only available to keyboard and mouse elitists on PC. Now, console players are wondering when it’s their turn to start grinding.
Rumors of a potential console version of VALORANT have been swirling for years. The concept seemed to be confirmed back in November of 2022 when Riot posted a job posting for a Senior Game Designer, Console.
Part of the job description read: “Design and refine features, modes, and systems to help bring console game products to market.”
But since then, there’s been no real word of when VALORANT will officially make its way to PlayStation, Xbox, and beyond. Will it be a PC exclusive forever?
Is VALORANT on Xbox and PlayStation?
Interestingly enough, VALORANT is currently on the Game Pass. Still, it’s only available on the PC.
You cannot play VALORANT on Xbox or PlayStation at this time.
A VALORANT leaker did discover, however, that Riot added two new icons to the game for both PlayStation and Xbox, another hint that the colorful shooter is most likely making its way to console — it’s just a matter of when.
When Is VALORANT Coming to Console?
There has been no official release date for VALORANT’s arrival on console. At this time, it does not seem likely that it’s coming in 2023. Riot Games has not made any statements on VALORANT’s console versions as of yet.
Is VALORANT Coming to Mobile?
Yes, VALORANT Mobile has been confirmed by Riot Games.
In a recent interview, developers admitted that they were deep into producing the mobile version of the agent-filled FPS. Unfortunately, no dates were given. Again.
Executive Producer Anna Donlon told One Esports: “We just don’t want to put VALORANT on mobile if it doesn’t work right and if it isn’t as great of an experience as we think we can provide. So I think that’s taken longer than we’d hoped to make it feel really good, but it’s still in development and something we’re really excited about.”
For now, VALORANT is exclusive to PC. It will most likely reach mobile, PlayStation, and Xbox but no timeline is known. Hopefully, VALORANT will have cross-play capabilities like Overwatch 2, Apex Legends, and other multi-platform shooters.
