College football rankings: Teams with most consecutive winning seasons

These college football teams lead the rankings with the most uninterrupted winning seasons on the gridiron.

The history of college football is replete with those elite programs that have built up a reputation of consistent winning over the decades, but that kind of dominance may be getting more difficult to pull off in the modern era with an expanded playoff, the transfer portal, and the new NIL environment.

But that doesn't mean the usual suspects haven't been dominating things on the field, and that they won't continue to in the future. What teams have done the best job of winning recently? Let's take a look at the rankings of what college football programs have the most consecutive winning seasons.

Memphis: 10

One of the Group of Five's more successful programs, the Tigers have been eligible for the postseason for 10 straight years, as well, including three double-digit winning seasons in the last decade.

Utah: 10

The last decade has been particularly good for the Utes under head coach Kyle Whittingham, who won two conference championships and played for the league title five times in total while building a consistent force on the recruiting trail.

Iowa: 11

Kirk Ferentz has led the Hawkeyes program since the beginning of this century, including two Big Ten titles in 2002 and 2004 as the No. 8 ranked team nationally, and won 10 games three times in the last five years thanks to some of college football's best defensive teams.

Ohio State: 12

Only once in the last generation have the Buckeyes finished with a losing record, in 2011 after Jim Tressel's resignation and during Luke Fickell's interim season. Otherwise, Ohio State is a regular playoff contender and top-10 feature while boasting an NCAA record for win percentage all-time.

Clemson: 13

Dabo Swinney's team has won at least 10 games every year since 2010 save last season, and while it hasn't made the College Football Playoff in three years, Clemson should take advantage of the expanded format, and still boasts two recent national championships.

Georgia: 13

Since the retirement of Nick Saban and the departure of Jim Harbaugh, Georgia can lay claim to having college football's best coach, winning two straight national titles and building a recruiting colossus that makes the Bulldogs a top destination for the nation's elite players.

Alabama: 17

Saban's run at Alabama is almost certainly the most dominant in college football history, building a legacy that includes more wins against ranked teams or NFL Draft picks than any other school. During his run, Alabama was virtually unbeatable in a way maybe no other school will be again.

Oklahoma State: 18

Mike Gundy owns these wins, claiming 12 bowl victories during his tenure and winning a conference championship, posting a winning season in every year since 2006.

Wisconsin: 22

The Badgers have ended up on the right side of .500 in every season since Barry Alvarez's 5-7 outing in 2001, including 10 years of winning double-digit games, and a run of eight bowl wins out of the last 10 opportunities.

Boise State: 26

Not since 1997 have the Broncos finished a loser, and in that time the program has also claimed 14 different conference championships across three different leagues: the Big West, the WAC, and the Mountain West.
