No. 1 college football transfer player Jordan Addison is down to two schools, with USC and Texas the remaining finalists to sign the wide receiver, according to Jordan Schultz.

Not much of a surprise, given that these are the schools that immediately emerged as the favorites once Addison announced he would transfer away from Pittsburgh.

Addison is the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner as the most outstanding wide receiver in college football after leading FBS receivers with 17 touchdown catches last season.

His production, in tandem with Heisman finalist quarterback Kenny Pickett, was instrumental in Pittsburgh winning the ACC championship a year ago.

But with Pickett's departure, Addison decided to test the waters and see if there was a better opportunity to develop himself before turning professional.

USC is entering a new phase under first-year coach Lincoln Riley and projects to be one of the most improved offenses in the nation after signing 5-star transfer quarterback Caleb Williams.

Texas signed 5-star Ohio State transfer quarterback Quinn Ewers and features Xavier Worthy at receiver and Bijan Robinson at running back in what should be one of the premier offenses in the Big 12.

USC was the early favorite, and not without some controversy. Not long after Addison entered the transfer portal, reports emerged claiming that Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi called USC coach Lincoln Riley and accused his program of tampering with the player.

Since entering the portal, Addison has taken personal visits with Texas and then USC. Alabama appeared to be in the running briefly after Addison was spotted practicing with Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young in California.
