Brian Kelly throws shade at Alabama while talking to LSU fans: "I love beating Alabama"

LSU football coach Brian Kelly is entering Year 2 in the SEC, fresh off a West Division title and a win over Alabama. LSU's 32-31 overtime victory over the Crimson Tide at Death Valley was a landmark moment not just in Kelly's debut season, but in the national picture, as well, and he wants Tigers fans to know that he's looking for more of the same in the future.
Speaking with LSU football supporters at the Touchdown Club of Houston, the second-year coach let everyone know how good last season felt.
"I love the environment of a college stadium," Kelly said, via the Houston Chronicle. "I love coming out on that field. I love beating Alabama."
The win was LSU's first over traditional rival Alabama since the 2019 season, and the school's first victory over the Tide on its home field since 2010, and was instrumental in putting LSU in the driver's seat in the SEC West title chase, and impacted the College Football Playoff race, with Alabama finishing outside the top four for just the second time in the CFP era, ending the season at No. 5.
The victory was cathartic not just for LSU, but also for Kelly himself, who was 0-2 against Alabama while head coach at Notre Dame, losing both times by double digits, first in the BCS national championship and then the College Football Playoff Rose Bowl semifinal game.
Now comes another decisive season for Kelly and LSU, which brings back the bulk of its talented roster, including star quarterback Jayden Daniels, who also led the team in rushing a year ago, its entire offensive line, boasts credible skill at wide receiver, returns to defensive stars in Maason Smith and Harold Perkins, and scored an elite transfer class that includes cornerbacks Denver Harris and Zy Alexander and wide receiver Aaron Anderson, among others.
This year's matchup comes at Bryant-Denny Stadium in another monumental clash that will almost certainly be the game of the week in the SEC, if not nationally.
