Former Ohio State Football Star Darron Lee Arrested on Troubling Charges

Former Ohio State football player and NFL first-round selection Darron Lee was arrested on Monday on two charges each of misdemeanor domestic violence and misdemeanor assault, according to a report by Columbus Dispatch.
A female relative accused Lee of punching her in the head several times during an argument, according to the allegations in the report.
The relative in question told police officers that Lee became upset when she told him to leave and yelled at her before grabbing her shirt and shoving her into a wall.
The woman was then thrown to the ground and hit in the head several times, according to the allegation as reported.
"Mr. Lee then began to strike her head with his fists making contact with her face and back of her head," according to a signed affidavit by Columbus police.
It added, "[The relative] stated that he struck her approximately 8-9 times in the head area with a closed fist."
This is the second time that Lee has been the subject of a domestic violence case. He was also accused of assaulting the mother of his child in October, per reports.
A native of Tennessee who moved to Ohio in middle school, Lee began his college football career at Ohio State in 2013, playing at the linebacker position until the 2015 season.
He was a first-round NFL Draft selection in 2016 by the New York Jets.
Two years later, Lee failed a PED test and was suspended by the NFL. The next year, he was traded by the Jets to the Kansas City Chiefs, and he was suspended again in 2020 for reasons that were not made public.
