Robert Griffin III recently highlighted wide receiver Chris Brazzell II as a premier talent for the 2026 NFL Draft. The former Heisman Trophy winner took to social media to praise the physical tools and playmaking ability of the standout playmaker.

Griffin noted the specific traits that make the 6-foot-5 target a unique threat for professional offenses. "Chris Brazzell ll is going to make any QB he plays with very happy," Griffin stated.

The endorsement comes as the NFL scouting community shifts its focus toward the next generation of perimeter threats. Brazzell has successfully transitioned from a productive stint at Tulane to becoming a focal point for high-level talent evaluators.

Chris Brazzell II scouting report

Brazzell offers a rare combination of height and vertical speed, validated by an official 4.37-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. At 6-foot-5 and 198 pounds, his ability to high-point the football provides a safety net for quarterbacks in tight windows.

Griffin emphasized this versatility, calling Brazzell an "Explosive athlete" with a "Wide Catch Radius makes him easy to throw to." Analysts have noted his improved hands, dropping only two passes on 99 targets during his final season.

National evaluators view Brazzell as a polished route runner who excels at sinking his hips despite his tall frame. Griffin added that "Every route looks like a go ball until it’s not," making him a "DB’s worst nightmare of speed and size."

His breakout performance against Georgia, where he recorded 177 yards and three touchdowns, proved he could dominate elite competition. Scouts specifically point to his "urgent movement" in and out of breaks as a trait that separates him from previous tall prospects.

Where Brazzell II fits in the 2026 NFL Draft board

NFL analysts like Todd McShay have lauded Brazzell’s ability to "ankle" defenders on intermediate routes, showcasing a suddenness rare for his size. His combination of 32-inch arms and a vertical-threat profile has moved him firmly into the Day 1 and Day 2 conversation.

Pro teams looking for a true X receiver prioritize the traits Griffin highlighted. The ability to create separation while maintaining a large catch radius makes Brazzell a high-floor prospect for teams with vacancies on the perimeter.

Brazzell finished his 2025 campaign with a 70.9% completion rate when targeted and a 3.2% drop rate, a significant statistical outlier for receivers of his height and speed profile. This reliability across 87 targets has positioned him as the top-ranked receiver in target-to-drop efficiency among prospects taller than 6-foot-3.

Brazzell led the SEC with 84.8 receiving yards per game in 2025 while recording a 1.52-second 10-yard split, a metric that ranks in the 95th percentile for receivers over 6-foot-4. His 2.57 yards per route run against conference opponents reinforces his standing as one of the most efficient vertical threats in the 2026 class.

The 2026 NFL Draft will begin on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in Pittsburgh.
