College Football’s No. 2 Overall Prospect Kellan Hall Announces Top 12 Programs

In this story:
In a significant development for one of the nation’s top high school football prospects, five-star defensive lineman Kellan Hall has trimmed his list of potential destinations down to just 12 marquee programs ahead of his 2028 decision.
The announcement, first reported by Rivals national recruiting reporter Hayes Fawcett, marks an important step in the recruitment of the Class of 2028 standout from Christian Academy in Louisville (Ky.).
One of America’s top linemen

Hall – a 6-foot-5 and roughly 270-275 pound lineman – currently ranks as the No. 2 overall prospect and the top defensive lineman in the ‘28 class, according to an industry weighted average of national recruiting expert opinion.
His combination of size, athleticism, and on-field production has drawn offers from programs across the Power Four conferences, positioning him as one of the most heavily pursued players in his class.
A dominant force on both sides of the ball at the high school level, Hall has already established himself as a high-upside talent projected to impact the defensive front at the next level.
Hall presents with a large frame capable of adding further bulk while maintaining elite movement skills, including a 40 time clocked in the 4.8- to 4.9-second range at national camps.
Scouts have consistently praised his speed-to-power ability, disruptive presence in the backfield, and high-effort style of play.
A solid on-field producer

Hall has been a principal contributor in Christian Academy’s recent success, including an undefeated season and Class 3A state championship. As a sophomore, he racked up 53 tackles, adding 17.5 stops for a loss, and recording 6.5 sacks.
Hall’s recruitment has included extensive visits and strong interest from blue blood programs. Oklahoma currently leads in many prediction models, with other contenders including Ohio State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Michigan.
Additional schools that have maintained contact or hosted the prospect include Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Texas, Oregon, and Texas A&M.

The narrowing comes at a pivotal time. Hall continues to refine his game and evaluate programs based on coaching relationships, scheme fit, developmental pathways, culture, and long-term playing opportunity.
As one of the youngest elite prospects in the 2028 class, Hall still has significant time remaining in his process.
For now, the field has been reduced to an elite dozen, setting the stage for the next phase of evaluation as Hall prepares for another high profile high school season and further interactions with remaining programs.
